Literature Text

And if I dare to dream tonight,
Will you hold me tight,
As my dream turns to a nightmare?
Will you promise to be waiting there?
Waiting for me waiting in the pouring rain,
Waiting there to make me smile and forget my pain,
Will you be there to hold my unconscious hand,
Will you be there to make that second set of foot prints in the sand?
Will you be there when I need you most?
Or will you vanish from my dreams like an ever elusive ghost?
I don't dare to dream. I don't want to know the truth.

This reminds me of a time when I was an insomniac.
I was willing to do anything to stop dreaming when all of my dreams turned to nightmares.
